Bainbridge Health Announces Growth in Hospital Network

The number of hospitals using company's Med O.S.® platform triples in 2021

PHILADELPHIA, [01/01/2022]: Bainbridge Health, the leading provider of infusion pump data management solutions, today announced that it realized significant growth in its customer base, expanding 218% during 2021. The company is currently serving over 100 hospitals across the United States, including 15 free-standing pediatric facilities.

Bainbridge Health’s Med O.S.® data science platform and clinical solutions team make infusion pump data actionable for clinicians with a goal of improving safety, driving standardization, and scaling scarce clinical resources. A survey from the Institute for Safe Medication Practices found that while 96% of clinicians believe infusion data is essential to quality improvement, only 22% felt confident that their organization had the necessary internal resources to drive quality improvements.” 1 Furthermore, The Joint Commission recently released Sentinel Event Alert #63: Optimizing Smart Infusion Pump Safety with DERS, citing the importance of using infusion data to improve safety performance.

“Data from infusion devices are one of the most underutilized assets in the hospital,” said Joseph Kaupp, Chief Executive Officer of Bainbridge Health. “Whether you are a large academic medical center, a community-based hospital, or a pediatric system, clinicians are constantly being asked to do more with less. Our mission from day one has been to apply modern technology and experienced clinical resources to unlock the value of data to drive safety and operational value for our partners. 2021 has been a year of tremendous growth, and I am extremely proud of our team and grateful for our health system partners.”

In addition to smart infusion pump safety, Bainbridge Health released new capabilities in 2021 to allow health system partners to optimize medication formulations and drive standardization. The new features of Med O.S.® efficiently surface utilization and waste for each medication formulation in use at partner sites and provides hand-on guidance for driving waste reduction, cost containment and overall standardization.
