They shared how they used a quality improvement framework to analyze bolus from infusion administrations using data-driven insights in order to effectively enact change in their drug library limits and bedside clinical practice.

Administration of an intravenous medication bolus from a continuous infusion using a smart infusion pump is a common clinical practice throughout hospitals across the National Infusion Collaborative (NIC).
To support this delivery method and ensure patient safety, it is recommended that separate library limits be developed for bolus dose administrations.
